Chinese vegetables love the cooler weather so, if you want a delicious fresh crop to rival your local restaurant, now is the time to sow your own.
With Marshalls' latest oriental veg collection you can grow new varieties, unheard of in supermarkets. Not only that, Marshalls is taking the guess work out of sowing with its easy-grow starter plant collection.
The selection of young vegetable plants, including the new Wa Wa Sai baby cabbage, are all expertly grown in individual cells under perfect nursery conditions. Despatched at just the right time, all you have to do is plant.
In just 40 days, these extra-fast maturing varieties will give you super crops of the most tender vegetables. Use their baby leaves in salads or allow them to grow on using the heads, steamed or in a stir-fry. They can be grown in containers on a balcony or patio as well as in the garden.

Compost Awareness Week takes place from 2 - 8 May 2010 and it's the ideal time to try something new when it comes to composting.??Although around 30% of us already compost at home, there are lots more things that we could all try. For example, 60% of people say they have never tried composting everyday household waste such as tea bags and scrunched or shredded paper and over half have never used peat-free compost which is much better for the environment than peat-based products.??So why should we bother?
