Help your garden spring to life - School competition to encourage wildlife friendly gardening and Natural England' Big Wildlife Garden website gives a helping hand for wildlife this spring.
- With the welcome sights and sounds of spring tentatively emerging, now is the ideal time to look at ways in which we can all help wildlife recover from the harshness of Britain’s long, cold winter.

Gardening in a wildlife-friendly way can considerably increase the diversity of plants and animals and create an oasis for species in decline such as hedgehogs, holly blue butterflies, song thrushes, bumble bees and stag beetles.
Exciting garden and food courses at West Dean In response to the increasing popularity of 'grow your own' fruit and vegetables, West Dean College, is for the first time, offering a new range of one-day food courses. Food at West Dean will include a mixture of talks, demonstrations, feasting and opportunities to learn from leading food writers and chefs.  The emphasis is very much on embracing local seasonal foods and the joys of growing and cooking your own produce.
